Second Sunday Funday

On the second Sunday of the month from 1 to 4 pm, families are invited to the High for artist demonstrations, art-making workshops and live performances. No registration required. Free with museum admission. Free for members.

Printmaking
July 8
Hale Woodruff created beautifully detailed woodblock and linocut prints. Using scratch board and a wooden skewer, families will create a version of a linocut, and then work on a screen print that is a representation of the community.

Check out Picturing the South, which features newly commissioned photos inspired by the South captured by renowned artists Martin Parr, Kael Alford, and Shane Lavalette. Then join in a workshop to create your own digital self-portrait and a unique photo transfer using blender pens and photocopies.

Game Day
September 9
It’s time to play a few art games in the permanent collection. Families will go on a scavenger hunt that will check their detective skills; test recall proficiency with a special artsy version of “Memory” and enjoy more games that are sure to bring out the artful competitor. Then they will make some creative games of their own.
