Fresh from SXSW Film Festival, 'Hey Bartender' debuts at Plaza Theater 6/21

HEY BARTENDER tells the story of the bartender in the era of the craft cocktail.

4th Row films is riding a wave of anticipation and success to Atlanta after receiving acclaim for their new film, Hey Bartender.

Hey Bartender was first seen at SXSW Film Festival this past March and has since, "just had its theatrical release in New York City on June 7th to great success," according to its Producers.

The film will have a one week run at the Plaza Theater starting June 21st.

HEY BARTENDER tells the story of the bartender in the era of the craft cocktail.

Synopsis
Two bartenders try to achieve their dreams through bartending. An injured Marine turns his goals to becoming a principal bartender at the best cocktail bar in the world. A young man leaves his white‐collar job to buy the corner bar in his hometown years later he struggles to keep afloat.

Hey Bartender is the story of the rebirth of the bartender and the comeback of the cocktail.  Featuring the world’s most renowned bartenders and access to the most exclusive bars in New York with commentary from Graydon Carter, Danny Meyer and Amy Sacco.

About the Director
Douglas Tirola has directed two and produced six documentary films in the past  four years including HBO’s AN OMAR BROADWAY FILM and the award winning ALL IN – THE POKER MOVIE.

And of course we could not talk about a bartending film about craft cocktails without supplying a favorite drink recipe from the film:

The Summer Cup
by Charlotte Voisey, Portfolio Ambassador, William Grant & Sons
 1 ½ oz Hendrick’s gin
 ½ oz Rhubarb Tea liqueur
 ¾ oz fresh lemon juice
 ¾ oz simple syrup
 3 muddled strawberries
 2 oz ginger beer
Shake. Strain over ice. Top with ginger beer. Garnish with cucumber and mint.
