Music Midtown Day 1 Leaves Fans Believin'

After Journey rocked Piedmont Park Friday night, the music starts early on Saturday and goes all day and into the night with the Red Hot Chili Peppers serving as Day 2 headliners.

Music fans began swarming into Piedmont Park late Friday afternoon for the start of another Music Midtown, and several hours later, the park’s meadow was a sea of people, packed shoulder-to-shoulder in a mass sing-along as Journey whipped through a two-hour set that included many favorites such as “Be Good to Yourself” and “Don't Stop Believin’”.

Day 1 of this Music Midtown was certainly a hit. And organizers and festival attendees alike hope Day 2 will be, too. And dry, but that could prove to be a problem with forecasters putting the chance of rain on Saturday at 90 percent.

But Music Midtown fans will come nonetheless, just like they did Friday to see and hear headliners Journey, along with Jane’s Addiction, Cake, 2 Chainz, The Mowgli’s, Phoenix and more. See here for a review of Friday’s performances.
