9th Annual Beer & Whiskey Fest at Park Tavern on September 1st

The 9th Annual Beer & Whiskey Fest will be held Labor Day weekend at Park Tavern located in the heart of Midtown Atlanta overlooking the beautiful Piedmont Park on Sunday, September 1st from 2:00 pm - 11:00 pm.  This annual charity event will feature 20 plus whiskies & craft beers, four rock tribute bands & a DJ along with great food while helping raise money for the Atlanta Beltline. 

The festival started nine years ago when Paul Smith (owner of Park Tavern), 99x (local radio station), & USA Entertainment joined forces to help raise $6000 for the Red Cross after Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf coast. Over the last eight years the event has raised funds for charities such as PAWS Atlanta and Nature Conservancy and for the third year in a row the event will benefit the Atlanta Beltline.

The festival will feature a raffle drawing plus a whiskey sampling from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm with 100% of proceeds going to the charity along with a portion of proceeds from ticket sales.  The festival will showcase four tribute bands featuring El Scorcho (Weezer), Behind the Sun (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Departure (Journey) and Fighting Foos (Foo Fighters) plus DJ Suspense spinning in between bands.  Park Tavern will be featuring a full food menu for the day along with a full cash bar featuring 20 plus craft and imports beers and call, premium & super premium whiskies.

The Atlanta Beltline is a 22-mile loop of historic rail corridor is being transformed into a new pedestrian-friendly transit system linking over 1,200 new acres of greenspace and 33-miles of multi-use trail around Atlanta’s downtown core.  The Atlanta Beltline connects 45 different neighborhoods, providing new housing, economic development, jobs, public art, and unique opportunities for historic preservation and environmental clean-up along and around the route.
