Cardamom Hill Opens on the Westside

New restaurant features Southern Indian cuisine.

A new dining experience has come to Westside Atlanta.

Cardamom Hill, a restaurant featuring Southern Indian cuisine, opened for dinner Thursday evening. The eatery is located at 1700 Northside Drive in the Berkeley Heights shopping center.

"The restaurant follows the evolutionary track of Executive Chef-Partner Asha Gomez’s popular Spice Route Supper Club, an underground dinner series that quickly launched Gomez into the Atlanta food scene and earned her a spot on Creative Loafing’s list of chefs to watch in 2011," according to a release.

Gomez will share dishes from a region in India called Kerala.

“I think Americans are ready to take their experience with Indian food to the next level by exploring regional Indian cuisine,” Gomez said in a release. “Our goal is to elevate Kerala cuisine to the same status afforded Tuscan cuisine in Italy or New Orleans cooking in America. India is known globally for its extraordinary food culture, but within the genre of Indian cuisine, Kerala’s centuries-old blend of influences is exceptionally sublime.”

The restaurant has seating for 48 people and a warm interior with two ornate rosewood walls.
