Delta Community Credit Union Opens Midtown Branch

New Midtown Mile location planning a week of special grand opening events

Delta Community Credit Union, a not-for-profit, financial services institution and Georgia’s largest credit union, has opened its 23rd metro Atlanta area branch, now in business in Midtown’s historic district.

Located at 80 Peachtree Place, across the street from The Margaret Mitchell House, the new 4,200-square-foot branch opened quietly late last week and is planning a week of special grand opening events, Saturday, Aug. 11 through Friday, Aug. 17.

“Expanding into Midtown has been a goal for several years,” Rick Foley, president and CEO at Delta Community, said in a release.  “We took the time to find the right location to best serve our customers that live and work in the heart of Atlanta.”

On Aug. 11, from 9 a.m. to noon, parents are invited to bring children ages 12 and under to the new Midtown branch to open new Sandy Savers savings account and receive a coloring book and Delta Community piggy bank while supplies last. The first 25 children to open a Sandy Savers account on that day will receive a $50 deposit into their new accounts.

A ribbon cutting ceremony with representatives from Delta Community and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 13. Metro Atlanta residents are invited to attend the grand opening or stop by throughout the day to meet the staff.

In addition to a robust portfolio of financial services available to members, Delta Community Credit Union is providing area patrons with additional lunch options. As part of the grand opening festivities, Delta Community is having two popular area food trucks selling their treats onsite – Pressed for Time paninis and burgers (Wednesday, Aug. 15; noon to 1:30 p.m.) and Hail Caesar salads, sandwiches and wraps (Friday, Aug. 17; noon to 1:30 p.m.). Anyone who opens a new loan account throughout the week will be treated to a complimentary Pressed for Time or Hail Caesar lunch, while supplies last.

Stacie Clark is the manager of the new branch that welcomes customers Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from  9 a.m. to noon. Extended hours are available for drive-thru services, Monday through Thursday until 5:30 p.m., Friday until 6 p.m. and Saturday until noon.

Previously unoccupied for over a decade, the new branch building lies within the Midtown Mile, a coordinated redevelopment initiative that plans to deliver more than 1 million square feet of urban, street-level retail spanning 14 consecutive blocks of Peachtree Street from 15th Street to North Avenue in Midtown Atlanta.

“This historic location weaves together the rich history of Midtown and Delta Community’s strong involvement in metro Atlanta,” Foley added. “We look forward to offering our exceptional services to Midtown residents and commuters alike and are excited to support the community in any way we can,” adds Foley.
