Update: Inclement Weather Delays 2013 “Pop Up Chef” Season Opener

Midtown's third annual outdoor lunch series now set to begin on April 11.

Doggone you Mother Nature! Due to Thursday’s inclement weather, today’s kickoff to the 2013 “Pop Up Chef” season in Midtown has been delayed until next Thursday, April 11. Chef Luis Damian of Escorpión will appear at Pop Up Chef later in the season. Check with Midtown Patch on Monday, April 8 to see who the featured chef will be next week for the season opener.

Returning after two successful seasons, “Pop Up Chef” will begin revving up midday appetites this Thursday, April 4, with tasty lunch bites from chef Luis Damian of Escorpión at 999 Peachtree.

Damian will entice Midtown pals and professionals with a taste of Escorpión's authentic Mexican menu, including gazpacho poblano freshly made with tomato, cilantro, grapefruit, cucumber and poblano peppers and tacos carnitas with citrus-braised pork, onions, cilantro and salsa verde.

Prices are dependent on each chef’s menu, and vary from $3 to $9.

Pop Up Chef will take place rain or shine on Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the corner of 999 Peachtree and 10th streets.

Guests can expect an impressive series lineup this year, with chefs from renowned restaurants including Serpas, 4th & Swift, Empire State South, Cakes & Ale, Watershed and Rosebud to name a few.
