Fadó Irish Pub May Open on the Westside

The popular bar and restaurant based in Buckhead may open another Atlanta outpost.

Fadó Irish Pub could be opening a second Atlanta location in West Midtown's Elan Westside Apartments project, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

The apartment project, under construction at the intersection of Howell Mill and 14th Street, began construction last fall and is slated to deliver 197 apartments and 11,000 square feet of retail space by fall.

The Business Chronicle quoted a developer of the retail portion of the development as saying Fadó is “one of the folks we are talking to.”

Fadó is a chain with locations in about a dozen cities, but the original was in Buckhead at the corner of Peachtree Road and Buckhead Avenue. It was torn down in 2007 to make way for a redevelopment project known at the time as Streets of Buckhead, which has since been renamed Buckhead Atlanta.

According to the Fadó website:

The new Fadó opened to the public on 11 March 2008.  The new three-level venue was created in Dublin by the Irish Pub Company and was shipped to Atlanta during the winter of 2007.
