Friday Jobs Event: 40 Store Floor/Production Positions Available

Beginning Friday, Goodwill of North Georgia will begin recruiting workers to fill open positions at its new Westside location set to open next month at 1460 Northside Drive. The facility, scheduled for a March 22 opening, will include a store and donation center. 

Friday’s jobs event will be from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at The Mall at Peachtree Center, 231 Peachtree Street. Call 404-420-9900 or see www.ging.org/Northside.aspx for more information. There will also be hiring events at the same location on Monday and Tuesday. Details include:

◦ 40 associates will be hired for floor/production positions for the new Northside Drive store.

◦ Pre-screenings and interviews will be held at Peachtree Center.

◦ Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and be able to successfully pass a background check and drug screen. 

◦ Please bring valid identification. 

◦ Applicants are encouraged to apply online before attending the pre-screenings.

Early Bird Incentive: Parking will be validated for the first 50 applicants each day at the 161 Peachtree Center Avenue Parking Garage. The center is also easily accessible via MARTA.

“We’ve opened locations in a number of North Georgia cities over the past five years and now we have the opportunity to bring our unique shopping experience and new jobs to the city of Atlanta,” said Goodwill’s Director of Public Relations Elaine Armstrong in a press release.

When the store opens next month, Goodwill expects shoppers to find it to be a great place for people looking to save money on clothes, books and other household items and donors will enjoy the convenient drive-up donation center. Moreover, they will have the opportunity to help thousands of other North Georgians find work.

“Our mission is to put people to work. We do this through a variety of job training programs and employment services. We use the sale of donated goods to fund those activities,” Armstrong explained.
