Midtown Home Depot hosting free social media photo booth event

Customers can have their holiday photo taken Saturday and Sunday at the Midtown Place shopping center store and instantly share it with friends.

The Home Depot in Midtown would like to help its customers celebrate the holidays by hosting a free social media photo booth event this weekend.

Customers shopping in the store can stop by the booth and snap a quick photo to show off their Christmas tree, holiday lights or everyday do-it-yourself purchases.

The photo booth allows customers to upload unique holiday photos to their Facebook wall or Twitter account, or email and text the photo to friends and family instantly.

Social photo sharing is one of the hottest trends in social media, and one of the most commonly used ways Facebookers, Twitter users, smartphone owners and Instagram fans communicate with each other. Instagram officials recently confirmed that they broke a record with 10 million Thanksgiving Day related pictures being shared within the 24 hour period alone.

This event is only being held in just seven Home Depot stores across the country, including the one in the Midtown Place shopping center located at 650 Ponce de Leon Avenue.

The photo booth will be located near where the live Christmas trees will be on sale and will be available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 1-2.
