Midtown matters to floral matters

Well-established wedding and event florist ventures into retail next month in Midtown.

An empty retail space near the intersection of West Peachtree and 14th streets is about to receive a touch of elegance. Not to mention the sweet aroma of fresh cut flowers.

floral matters, an established wedding, event and corporate florist based out of a studio on the Westside at 892 Jefferson Street, is busy relocating and readying for a mid-September opening at 1155 W. Peachtree in Midtown.

On its website, the company states, “Working closely with your vision, floral matters creates world-class floral décor, making your event unique.”

It is owned and operated by Jeanna Baily and Martin Kemp. The space was the former home of clothing boutique K. Alexander, which moved out approximately two years ago.

The news is good for Midtown, which this past weekend saw the closing of clothing boutique DrewLewis and restaurants Five Napkin Burger and Table 1280. A few weeks ago, the home furnishings store Ligne Roset also shuttered its doors.
