Octane Coffee to Open Shop in South's Tallest Building

Octane Pocket Bar should open in the next week in the Bank of America building.

Octane Coffee, which runs a shop in West Midtown, should open a new location in the next week in the Bank of America building.

Called Octane Pocket Bar, the new coffee shop will be located in the lobby of the building at 600 Peachtree Street, the 6th tallest building in the country.

“It’s a small lease with a huge impact” said Gene Kansas of Gene Kansas | Commercial Real Estate, who represents Octane. “We’re doing more than leasing a small space in a big building, we’re contributing to a professional community and accentuating its true potential.”

Kansas said the coffee shop is waiting for final inspections and should open in the next week.

The coffee shop will offer craft coffees, espresso drinks, Holman & Finch pastries,  and other food items such as sandwiches, salads, fruits and juices. There will be free WiFi and comfortable seating, according to the company. The shop also will operate a mobile cart to deliver food and drinks to tenants and employees of the Bank of America building.

“This is an exciting opportunity for Octane,” said owner Tony Riffel, who left corporate America seven years ago to start the company with his wife, Dianne. “We love the idea of being able to give the tenants at Bank of America, a place were they can get great coffee but also an experience to enjoy.”

Octane recently closed its location at Emory Village.
