Ansley's Bethea joins golfing great Norman at Omega ribbon cutting

Founding Director of the Chattahochee Riverkeeper organization joins others in celebrating luxury brand's new Atlanta boutique and partnership with group dedicated to protecting and preserving the Chattahoochee River.

Ansley Park’s Sally Bethea, the founding director of the westside-based Chattahoochee Riverkeeper (CRK), joined legendary golfer and Swiss watchmaker Omega ambassador, Greg Norman, in helping cut the grand opening ribbon at the luxury brand's new boutique in Buckhead’s Phipps Plaza.

While Norman was present at the Thursday evening affair, fellow Omega brand ambassadors including Michael Phelps, Nicole Kidman, Cindy Crawford, and Daniel Craig were not.

But plenty of others were as among those also celebrating Omega’s first boutique in Georgia and its partnership with CRK were Laura Turner Seydel and Rutherford Seydel, who founded CRK in 1994. The event benefitted CRK and co-host Nina Cheney, Kirsten Norman, Victor Haydel, Heather and Dominic Richardson, Porsha Stewart, Danielle Rollins, Peter Corry, Wendy Zoller and Allan and Aida Flamm, also mingled along with Omega President Stephen Urquhart.

In 2012, Bethea was honored by Southern Living magazine as one of its “Heroes of the New South.” She was honored in the “Eco-Preservation” category “as an individual recognized for fighting tirelessly to preserve the beauty of the region’s natural resources.”

The 1,239-square-foot Omega boutique will offer the brand’s entire selection of products, including each of its luxurious watch lines, and fine leather and jewelry collections.

The Phipps Plaza store features Omega’s global design concept, a façade found in each of the brand’s boutiques located around the world. The design concept is presented in the window displays and interior design of the boutique and has been conceived around the themes of sun, water, earth and time.
