Preserving Place Aims to Preserve Our Southern Food Heritage - Now Open
New retail store and kitchen opening Wednesday at Westside Provisions District will carry signature house-made products.
The innovative new retail store and kitchen will carry signature house-made products such as Lemon Tomato Jam, Bread & Butter Pickle Relish, Catsup +, and Pickled Peaches, as well as other artisanal products including Doux South organic pickles, Beautiful Briny Sea salts, and Ancesserie letterpress goods and gifts, starting September 11th.
To kick off opening week, Preserving Place will offer its first round of cooking classes; Basics for Cooking for Baby on Friday, September 13 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. and Canning 101 on Saturday, September 14 from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. To register please call Preserving Place at (404) 815-JAMS and visit our Facebook page for the full schedule of classes.

ABOUT PRESERVING PLACE
Founded by Martha McMillin, Preserving Place draws inspiration from South Carolina Piedmont heritage and the refined architecture of Charleston. With fond memories of growing up on a farm that produced cotton and peaches, McMillin is excited to share her knowledge of preserving foods and canning that was passed down from generation to generation. Working with Virginia Willis on signature recipe development, Preserving Place will feature house-made products such as ATL-1 Steak Sauce, Sweet Onion Confit, Veracruz Seafood Sauce, Catsup +, Hot Peach & Ginger Jam, Watermelon Rind Pickles, and Bread & Butter Pickle Relish. Preserving Place is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. until 6 p.m.
