Sausalito West Coast Grill Rebounds With Passing Health Inspection

Starbucks on 14th Street earns a '96,' as Patch rounds up some recent health inspection scores for Midtown restaurants.

Six days after scoring a 48 on its Jan. 8 health inspection as performed by the Fulton County Department of Health and Wellness, a Midtown restaurant that specializes in Mexican and Latin cuisine, bounced back with a score of 85 last week.

Sausalito West Coast Grill, located at 1389 Peachtree Street, was cited for 13 violations, including a pair that were a known risk factor for foodborne illness, during the first inspection this month.

The 48 was graded as a "U”. A food service establishment that is graded as a “U” and does not earn at least a grade “C” within 10 days of receiving the “U” will be requested to voluntarily close until all violations are corrected and/or have enforcement action taken to suspend or revoke the food service permit.

Sausalito West Coast Grill bounced back to score a “B” on its Jan. 14 inspection. Readers can click on the score to see the actual report and Sausalito's last six scores are as follows:

Keep in mind the re-inspections are scheduled, so that means the deck is stacked in favor of the restaurant. Also, this place has a ventilation system that dumps grease on the sidewalk on 17th street......

This is Ernesto from Sausalito West Coast Grill here. I just want to reassure everyone that the place is clean and the food is safe. Let me explain to everyone exactly what the problems on the inspection were. First they off points for not having a sign telling the employees to wash their hands (we wear gloves all the time), and second they dinged us for not having the guacamole, pico de gallo, and cheese at 40 degrees.
