'Tinsel and Twine' contest winner feeling the holiday joy

Saturday's holiday pop-up event on the westside promises to wrap the season in holiday good cheer.

Midtown resident Marnye Hall was the lucky winner of a $50 Westside Provisions District (WSPD) gift certificate that Midtown Patch helped give away in conjunction with the annual 'Tinsel and Twine' event at WSPD.

Hall’s name was randomly selected among all those who entered the Patch/WSPD contest and the Midtown resident of about six years expressed her love of the holidays.

“I think my favorite Christmas memories surround decorating the Christmas tree when I was a child,” she said. “My grandparents would always join us for the decorating after my dad spent a few hours getting the lights just perfect. The tree was never themed, it was a hodgepodge of store-bought and handmade ornaments. The decorating always ended when my grandpa’s final touch - the blown glass star.”

There’s plenty of ornaments, handmade holiday goodies perfect for stuffing stockings and oh so much more to find at Tinsel and Twine, which concludes for the 2012 holiday season on Saturday at WSPD. Boutique retailers from all over the country will be present to augment the already outstanding slate of merchants at WSPD, located near the intersection of 14th Street and Howell Mill Road.

The event is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and features plenty of free parking, including in a multi-level parking deck located at 1100 Howell Mill.
