Happy New Year, Midtown!

While some of us are nursing champagne hangovers this morning while pondering what resolutions we will actually accomplish in 2013, others are just wondering about the year's first meal.

Welcome to 2013, Midtown Patch readers. Looks like it's going to begin wet with a 100 percent chance of rain and temperatures climbing into the mid-50s forecasted for Tuesday.

Although almost all government offices are closed for New Year's Day, many restaurants, bars and other kinds of businesses will be operating.

While you know that eating black-eyed peas, ham or greens are thought to bring prosperity, maybe you don’t want to spend the first day of 2013 in the kitchen.

With that in mind, here are a few dining options for Tuesday. And of course, if we’ve left one off the list, please put it into the comments box below.

Park 75 Lounge at Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta will be serving its Park 75 Amercian Breakfast from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. It includes juice and coffee or tea and the regular Park 75 menu is also available. It’s $38 for adults; $18 for children ages 6 to 12; and children 5 and under are complimentary. It includes complimentary valet parking and call 404-253-3840 for more information.

For those of us who need a little luck to start off 2013 the right way, Bone Lick BBQ Kitchen and Bar-B-Cade on the westside is hosting “The Day After the Debauchery Good Luck Dinner” beginning at 2 p.m.

Featuring a special $18 menu of traditional southern fare, the superstitious and hungover alike are invited to enjoy four mouthwatering courses: House-cured tasso ham stuffed, bacon-wrapped smoked pork roast; pork braised collards; cast iron skillet cornbread with potlikker; and lucky dime black eyed peas. An abbreviated menu will also be available. Make your reservation by calling 404-343-6574.

Or celebrate New Year’s Day with Bantam + Biddy’s special New Year’s Day menu. The restaurant is offering a traditional Southern special of corned Brasstown ham and ham gravy, stewed organic black-eyed peas, braised collard greens, Buckeye Creek grits and sweet potato pie, all for $20. The regular menu will also be available for guests. Bottomless bloody marys and mimosas are offered all day for $10. For more information call 404-907-3469.
