Topgolf Shooting for West Midtown Driving Range

The three-level driving range is billed as a premier entertainment venue in West Midtown.

A Dallas-based golf company plans to expand its operations with a state-of-the-art driving range in West Midtown.

According to CBS Atlanta, Topgolf Inc. is about to break ground on a three-level range, complete with golf lessons and a full service restaurant and bar. Topgolf estimates 450,000 people will visit the facility in its first year.

In a Topgolf press release issued on July 7, the site for the 65,000 sq. ft. facility was announced as 1600 Ellsworth Industrial Blvd., approximately three miles from Atlantic Station and Georgia Tech. Topgolf also stated that construction work would begin on July 7.

“Topgolf Atlanta is a very special project for our company as it is our first-ever truly urban location,” said Topgolf Real Estate Director Zach Shor in the release. “We are excited to become part of the fast-growing west midtown area and offer residents of the ‘live, work, play’ environment another option for their entertainment.”

The new facility will boast 3,000 sq. ft. of private event space and over one hundred private hitting bays on three levels, each of which can accommodate up to six people per bay, the release states.

Topgolf anticipates a spring 2015 opening for its Midtown driving range. The new facility will join a similar complex that opened in Alpharetta this spring.
