Updated Information on Alcohol Being Served at Gas Station Outside Ansley Park

The following is information from the Ansley Park Civic Association in regards to the association's fight against allowing the gas station at 1521 Peachtreet Street to serve alcohol 24 hours a day.  The Board of Directors believe they have come to an agreed upon solution with the business owner and are removing their opposition. The full letter is below:

"On behalf of the APCA Board of Directors, I am delighted to let you know that the gas station at 1521 Peachtree has agreed not to sell alcohol between the hours of 12:30 a.m. and 6 a.m.   I have thus informed Mayor Reed that Ansley no longer opposes the City's granting a liquor license (beer and wine) to Alex Panjwami as agent for that establishment.

Tyler Gaines of Dewberry Capital was instrumental in achieving this resolution.  As you likely know, Mr. Panjwami had the legal right to sell alcohol 24/7. In order to compensate Mr. Panjwami for any revenue lost by not selling during those hours, Dewberry will give him a break on his rent. I have also assured Tyler that Ansley will now welcome the gas station as a good neighbor.

The neighborhood is already aware that the physical aspect of the gas station has vastly improved, and we can now look forward to a cordial relationship on all levels.

I plan to invite Tyler and Alex to our Annual meeting on October 9th to welcome this establishment to the neighborhood.

The Board thanks all those who joined together to achieve this resolution. In addition to Dewberry Capital, these include many in the Ansley Park and Sherwood Forest communities, as well as area businesses and religious institutions. Thanks as well to the City of Atlanta public officials who heard our concerns."

Julia Emmons, APCA President
