What Should Go Here? Former Midtown Sub Sandwich Shops

Firehouse Subs on the Midtown Mile and Jersey Mike's Subs in the Midtown Promenade close doors.

Midtown has recently seen the closing of a pair of sub sandwich shops with the recent exits of Firehouse Subs and Jersey Mike’s Subs.

Firehouse Subs was located at 860 Peachtree Street at the Spire Condominiums. Its signage was removed late last week, while the windows are currently covered in brown paper.

It followed the shuttering of Jersey Mike’s Subs in the Midtown Promenade shopping center at 931 Monroe Drive. Operated for approximately a decade, Jersey Mike’s closed within the last two weeks according to several employees at neighboring restaurants. A message was left Tuesday with the Jersey Mike’s corporate office seeking further comment.

Of course, there’s no shortage of restaurants to order up a tasty sandwich in Midtown. Still, do you think similar type restaurants should fill these empty spaces?

Or would the Spire Condominiums and Midtown Promenade spots be better served to have non-eatery businesses replace these two departed sub shops? Let us know in the comment section below.
