Will This Midtown Mixed-Use Project Make ATL a 24-HR City?

Two million-square-foot 98 14th Street project in Midtown could "reshape" Midtown's sklyline according to local business news outlet.

Atlanta Business Chronicle reports that a trio of twisting towers targeted for the heart of Midtown on 14th Street could “reshape” Midtown’s sklyline.

In an article in its most recent print edition (which can be found online here in its subscriber section), ABC details again the 98 14th Street project in Midtown, a $650 million mixed-use project on the former “symphony center” site.

Arquitectectonica, the same design firm behind downtown's Philips Arena, recently presented plans for the 2 million-square-foot development that as the ABC writes, “could be the tipping point that turns Atlanta into a 24-hour city.”

The three towers would rise 60, 57 and 38 stories high and the project itself could include 1,300 residential units, 93,000 square-feet of retail and restaurants and 340 luxury brand hotel rooms.

It would be built in phases on the approximately 4-acre site between the 50-story One Atlantic Center and the 41-story 1180 Peachtree towers. Completion is set for 2020.
