DELTA COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION PARTNERS WITH BRASS MEDIA TO TEACH LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ABOUT THE MONEY SIDE OF LIFE™

Delta Community Credit Union, Georgia’s largest credit union, is proud to announce its partnership with brass Media, a company helping young adults set a strong foundation for their future by teaching them how money impacts their lives. Delta Community has engaged brass Media for its brass student program, providing local high school teachers with scholastic materials that teach students about personal finance while meeting educational standards.

The brass student program is a nationwide initiative to strengthen high school students' understanding of money by providing free personal finance resources and instructional materials to students and teachers. The student program already reaches tens of thousands of students across the country and is made possible in select metro Atlanta schools through its sponsorship with Delta Community.

Elements of the student program include copies of the brass Magazine Student Edition, which is a lifestyle money magazine about the money side of life™ written by young adults for young adults. The program also includes online access to the Teacher Resource Center, a clearinghouse of lesson plans, videos and activities. Teachers may use the magazine as a stand-alone resource, in conjunction with lesson plans provided by brass, or as a complement to existing classroom activities.

Teachers interested in having a Delta Community representative make a classroom presentation may contact Maria Peifer, business and community development representative, at maria.peifer@deltacommunitycu.com.

The brass Media student program joins additional Delta Community initiatives designed to support  young people, including Quarterlife, its complete banking program for young adults, Serve and Deserve, its fundraising match program for high school clubs and organizations, the annual Delta Community Credit Union Scholarship and Credit Unions for Kids which supports Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
