Fontaine M. Huey Named President of CVI

The Center for the Visually Impaired’s (CVI) Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Fontaine M. Huey as the new CVI president effective October 1, 2013.  She will succeed Susan B. (Subie) Green.  Fontaine will leave the Atlanta Botanical Garden where she has served as the vice president for institutional advancement since 2006.

Susan Hoy, chair of the CVI Board of Trustees said, "The Board is very excited about the selection of Fontaine Huey to lead CVI.  The Search Committee was initially impressed by Ms. Huey’s successful experience with fundraising in the Atlanta community.  However, we quickly came to appreciate the skill and sensitivity she brought to all her interactions with the diverse populations she met with during the interview process.  It is this sensitivity combined with her sincere interest in the work of CVI and the people it serves that will undoubtedly characterize her leadership as President of CVI."

Fontaine brings over 15 years of extensive experience to CVI.  At the Atlanta Botanical Garden, she oversaw the membership program, development activities (including corporate and foundation relations, annual fund, and individual and planned giving), and two capital and endowment campaigns simultaneously.  Most recently, she successfully exceeded the Atlanta Botanical Garden campaign goal of $55 million by raising $62 million to fund key facilities (parking deck, visitor center, and canopy walk) and new gardens.
