Gas South donates $31,000 to United Way through sponsorship with Atlanta Braves

Gas South, the official natural gas provider and sponsor of the Atlanta Braves, wrapped up the fifth annual “Bring the Heat” campaign Saturday with a total donation of $31,000 to the United Way of Metro Atlanta.

Gas South pledged at the beginning of the season to donate $25 every time an Atlanta Braves pitcher strikes out an opponent. This season, the Atlanta Braves pitched 1,240 strikeouts, translating to a donation of $31,000 for the United Way.

Gas South presented the check to the United Way at the beginning of Saturday’s game against the Phillies.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Braves and our nonprofit partners to give back to the communities we serve,” said Meredith Hodges, Gas South vice president. “The ‘Bring the Heat’ campaign has helped to make a huge impact on the lives of thousands of local families in need.”

Since 2008, Gas South has contributed a combined $203,000 to nonprofit organizations including the United Way through the “Bring the Heat” campaign.
