Local Memorial Day Events
So many exciting things happening around the neighborhood this Memorial Day Weekend!
Memorial Day is such a fun time for Americans. It marks the end of school for many and is viewed the first real day of summer. People are finally emerging from their indoor hibernation and are ready to get outside and enjoy themselves. One of my favorite places to be on weekends like this is my lake house, but not everyone has that luxury so I thought I'd fill y'all in on a few exciting things happening around the neighborhood! The last few times I was in Piedmont Park, I noticed tents going up, so I did some snooping and here is what I found for local events this weekend.
Friday, May 25th
- Friday Night Fireworks at Turner Field. Support your Atlanta Braves vs the Washington Nationals (first of a three game series). 7:35pm. Get your tickets here.
- WNBA Atlanta Dream vs New York Liberty Phillips Arena 7:30pm. Tickets on sale for about 50 percent off (through Goldstar) here.
- Wish I was in Destin block party-RiRa, Flip Flops, Tin Lizzys, Deadwood Saloon & Sutra Lounge. 7pm. Tickets on sale for about 50 percent off (through Goldstar) here.
- Free! . 9-10:30pm.
- Summer Sunsets in the Park with Yacht Rock Review @ Park Tavern. $10. 7pm.
Saturday, May 26th
- Green Market for Piedmont Park. Support local farmers! 9am-1pm. Free!
- Atlanta Jazz Festival in Piedmont Park. Free music! Performances start at 1pm.

Sunday, May 27th

Monday, May 28th (Memorial Day)
- Atlanta Jazz Festival in Piedmont Park. Free music! Performances start at 1pm.
- Come out to Turner Field and support your Atlanta Braves vs St. Louis Cardinals! Game at 1:10pm. Tickets here. Free Beach Boys concert after the game!
- Grant Park Opening Day Pool Party! 2:30-4:30pm. Free hot dogs, drinks, a DJ and pool games! Regular admission fees apply. (Only $4 for adults!)
