Midtown Atlanta is overflowing with valuable residential and commercial real estate.
From high-rise condos to boarded up buildings to colleges to contemporary mansions to old red brick apartments to restaurants and retail stores, Midtown is the center of metro Atlanta in more ways than one.
This blog will explore the wonderful world of real estate in central Atlanta! Have you noticed Georgia State buying up as much of downtown as possible? What a great thing for this city! Midtown technically extends from Brookwood Station where I-85 crosses under Peachtree and then south to the Fox Theatre, but it's really a fluid area.
Georgia Tech has crossed the freeway to the east, Georgia State is creeping northward toward Midtown, SCAD occupies the northern piece of Midtown. Georgia State is posed to buy a significant building on Auburn Avenue to help revitalize that neighborhood and use it for their welcome center. If you have not been downtown lately you would not believe the vitality there, with students everywhere.
And SCAD students at the northern end are walking from apartments in midtown to the school near Brookwood station. The heart of Midtown is probably 10th and Peachtree though some would argue 14th and Peachtree for the sheer size and density of the buildings. More on that later.
The Midtown Alliance has probably measured distances and density to find that point. But in terms of the greater picture of metro Atlanta, Uptown, Midtown and Downtown are the heart of the bull's eye that is the map of the region.
