It's Memorial Day weekend and the weather forecast looks good--get out there and do something fun!

Memorial Day weekend is upon us and it looks like it's going to be sunny and hot every day, making it pretty good weather to get out and do something fun. Here are a few suggestions.

Food Trucks and Friday Night Live at Atlantic Station

Friday lunchtime at Atlantic Station is fun as 17 1/2 Street fills up with food trucks offering all sorts of fare from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Later on in the evening at 7 p.m., Central Park becomes a concert venue for all sorts of up and coming acts--this week it's .

Atlanta Jazz Festival

When: May 26-28

The 31 Days of Jazz celebration comes to a close with the 35th annual Atlanta Jazz Festival. Performances start at 1 p.m. each day on the main stage and 2 p.m. on the international stage. Click here to see a full schedule of performers. There will also be foods and a market featuring art, photography, clothing, jewelry and more. Make sure to bring your own chair or blanket. Morningside Farmers' Market

This week, the market features a chef demonstration by Britt Cloud from Sprig. Vendors this week include Cimino Farm, D&A Farm, Hidden Springs Farm, Woodland Gardens and more. Get some super fresh, super seasonal goodies! Check the website for more details.

Nicky's Week

When: Starts May 27

The eighth annual Nicky's Week is a weeklong fundraiser to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. RA will offer special menu items with 100 percent of the proceeds going to St. Jude, including edamame, Tootsy Maki, shrimp nigiri, pork gyoza, chicken yakitori, garlic citrus yellowtail tapas and select drinks. The restaurant has raised $943,000 so far and really wants to pass $1 million this year.

Blue Star Museums

When: Starts May 28

The nationwide Blue Star Museums initiative offers free admission to active duty military personnel and up to five of their family members at more than 1,500 museums. In Midtown, the High Museum and Margaret Mitchell House are participating. Please bring one of the military IDs shown in this diagram to get the free admission. This program runs through Labor Day.

Also, on a related note, if you know anyone who did or is doing military service, thank them for their service--they do so much for this country.
