APD: Be Mindful Of Music Midtown Parking Restrictions

Crowds are already gathering in Piedmont Park for Music Midtown, but Atlanta police are reminding everyone of parking restrictions.

The Atlanta Police Department is reminding attendees of Saturday’s Festival to be mindful of parking ordinances in surrounding neighborhoods and to be aware that violators will be subject to being ticketed and towed.

The APD has a traffic plan in place to ensure traffic flows smoothly, and will be assisting ParkAtlanta with parking enforcement. Festival attendees are encouraged to take MARTA or seek alternate modes of transportation whenever possible. Paid parking, though limited, is available.

"While such festivals are an important part of the city’s cultural fabric, the neighborhoods immediately surrounding are not suitable for parking during such events," the APD said in a Friday release.

"When parking, be aware of parking restrictions and pay attention to signage," the APD said. "Be careful not to block driveways, fire hydrants, and crosswalks, and do not have any part of your vehicle obstructing lanes of traffic. Residents in the area are encouraged to avoid 10th Street and take alternate routes to their homes."
