Classes on tai chi, an ancient form of martial arts, have begun. Led by instructor Lori Rowe, each class lasts for an hour on one of the open courtyards inside the gardens. Rowe has been an instructor for 12 years and has studied tai chi for close to 18 years.
Tai chi focuses on meditation and relaxation as students run through different forms that help focus, balance and strength.
Each session lasts for 10 weeks and averages around $14 per class. The next session begins on Sept. 17.
