Family-Friendly Bets

When/Where: Friday from noon to 9:00pm, Saturday from 10:00am to 9:00pm and Sunday from 10:00am to 5:00pm in .
Why Go: This will be the 75th Atlanta Dogwood Festival.  You already know about the art and the family-friendly Kid’s Village, High School Art Exhibition, Disc Dog Tournament, food, and music. But this year, to celebrate this special 75th anniversary, your family will have the opportunity to take a spin on a nine-story classic Seattle Ferris Wheel and/or a fully restored, 1965 vintage carousel! 
Pricing: Free to attend the festival.

When/Where: Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at sundown (approximately 8:00pm) on the lawn of Atlantic Station’s Central Park. Central Park is located between 18th and 19th Streets and East District and West District Avenues.
Why Go: Whole Foods Market presents this outdoor film festival featuring film makers and films focused on environmental and food issues. Each of the six films (there will be a double-feature shown each evening) highlight a particular issue and tell the stories of the people trying to make a difference.
Pricing: This event is free and open to the public but in keeping with the event theme, you are asked to RSVP and to either pledge four hours of community service with an environmental organization, or make a $12.00 donation.

When/Where: Saturday from 10:00am to 1:00pm at the .  
Why Go:  Have a fun morning/early afternoon out with your kids while also supporting MPP!  Enjoy games, pony rides, a petting zoo, a toddler play area, inflatables, face painting and a train.
Pricing: It’s a fundraiser. Expect modest ticket prices.

When/Where: Saturday from 10:30am to 4:30pm at the .
Why Go: This annual festival is lots of fun and engaging for the whole family. Watch sheep shearing, spinning, weaving, open hearth cooking, blacksmithing and candle making demonstrations. Enjoy storytelling, traditional music, old-fashioned games, crafts and guided tours of the historic farmhouse and take home a handful of wool!
Pricing: Free for members and included with the cost of Atlanta History Center general admission for non-members.  Girl Scouts can purchase a special Sheep to Shawl patch when they participate in the days events.

Why Go: Best for your 3 to 8 year olds, celebrate Spring with stories, crafts, music and games!
