GA Power Says Still Roughly 60,000 Homes Without Power in Metro Area

A heavy thunderstorm moved through the Atlanta area Thursday evening.

There are still thousands of people without power in the metro Atlanta area.  Most of the towns affected are in North Atlanta, but we believe there are about 5000 homes in the Midtown Patch coverage area with no power.

According to this map which shows exactly what areas are without power, the Berkley Park and Ansley Park/Sherwood Forest areas have the most outages.  The map says that there are about 3000 people in this area alone that are affected.

Georgia Power left this message for those residents:

Friday's weather forecast calls for sunny skies with high temperatures in the mid-80s, much-like yesterday's forecast before the thunderstorms.
