Man Shot Outside Pine Street Homeless Shelter Monday Morning

Atlanta Investigative Units are still canvassing the south Midtown area for information on a shooting that left one man with multiple gunshot wounds, yet in stable condition.

Public Affairs Officer, Kim Jones, told Midtown Patch that this was the second shooting of the night and that, "approximately 12:40 am, Zone 5 units responded to 100 Renaissance Parkway in reference to a person shot."

There was a separate shooting in southwest Atlanta hours earlier.

According to Jones, the victim, "stated that he was in the area of the Pine Street Shelter looking for a friend when he was approached by three males who attempted to sell him illegal narcotics and when he told them he was not there for that, they told him to leave the area and as he left the area he heard shots fired and he was shot twice, once in the side and once in the elbow."

A description of the suspects was not given out by police officers, though that area has a history with drug dealers and some violent crimes so they may have some good leads to go on.

The victim was transported in stable condition to Grady Hospital.
