New Midtown Eateries on the Build

Construction continues on several new restaurants in and around Midtown.

Restaurants come and go in Midtown, and here’s a video update on a quintet of establishments that have either recently opened or will do soon after the building construction process has been completed.

Note that the video was shot at the beginning of the month, so these establishments are even further along the construction phase than the videos depict.

The first is the recently completed Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches in the former Great American Coin Laundry store next to Ansley Mall. It’s now open for business, and another Jimmy John’s is targeted on Peachtree Street in Pershing Point Plaza where the former My Friend's Place sandwich shop is.

Nearby is Uncle Maddio's Pizza Joint, which reportedly was to spend $130,000 to build its outlet at Ansley Mall in the former Boardwalk Burgers space. It’s scheduled to open this summer in the 2,086 square-foot facility.

Not far away is La Hacienda Mexican Restaurant near Grady High School on Monroe Drive at the site of the former Silver Grill building. This restaurant has been in the planning for several years, but should open this summer.

And further south on Ponce de Leon Avenue is both the Zaxby’s in the former Church’s Chicken space at 425 Ponce, and Dunkin' Donuts, which plans to open a 2,100 square-foot restaurant at the southwest corner of Ponce and Boulevard.

Looking forward to any of these new spots to grab a bite in Midtown?
