Readers' Choice Winner: The Convenient Tax Preparer

Selected as Midtown's best place for last minute tax preparation, the business has a name that tells clients that the "emphasis is on people, not just forms, records and numbers."

Looks like Midtown Patch readers fear the tax man, or maybe most of you are way ahead of the game in filing your taxes. Or maybe this week’s Readers’ Choice poll just didn’t grab your fancy.

The point is we had little participation in this week's Readers' Choice poll about last-minute tax preparation, but we did have enough to declare a winner: The Convenient Tax Preparer.

The Convenient Tax Preparer is in essence John Wilcox, who founded his company in 1996 and has been preparing taxes for 22 years. He operates out of the same Midtown home that he has lived in for many decades. But whenever possible, Wilcox likes to meet new clients at their home or office, taking whatever time is necessary to properly prepare a person’s tax return.

As a company brochure reads: “The name was chosen to tell clients that the emphasis is on people, not just forms, records and numbers.”

Each return is fully explained prior to submitting it to the IRS. All returns are e-filed whenever possible. Reach Wilcox at john.contax@gmail.com; (w) 404-870-0306; (c) 404-384-0858.
