The Week Ahead in Midtown

Take advantage of discounted admission to the Coke Museum, learn about French lessons, enjoy barbecue and comedians, watch a cake-decorating expert and go for the pork at BaconFest.

Here are five things to know about the week ahead in Midtown. For a full list of things to do, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. $10 admission to World of Coca-Cola. Monday is the last day for Coke's March Madness promotion, which includes discounted general admission tickets to the Coke Museum.

2. French lessons? An open house will be held for people interested in taking French language lessons during the spring session at  Alliance Française d'Atlanta at 1197 Peachtree St. N.E. Starts at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Free.

3. BBQ comedy. Bone Lick BBQ is launching a weekly comedy night, starting at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at the restaurant at 1133 Huff Road NW. Patrons will pass judgment on 10 comics. Free admission.

4. Cake decoration. Lisa Humphreys of Couture Cakes will demonstrate her techniques at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Museum of Design Atlanta at 1315 Peachtree St. NE. $5-$10, free for museum members.

5. BaconFest. Prepare for 1,200 pounds of bacon, cold beer and music at this fund-raiser for Dad's Garage. Starts at 1 p.m. Saturday at 280 Elizabeth St. NE, Suite C101. $28 and up.
