The Week Ahead in Midtown

You can see a puppet show about a super hero bug, attend a financial literacy workshop, go to an Oscar party and learn more about painter Frida Kahlo and her husband, Diego Rivera.

Here are five things to know about the week ahead in Midtown. For a full list of happenings, check the Patch calendar of events.

No school Monday. It's Presidents Day and Atlanta Public Schools and Fulton County Schools are giving students a holiday. Classes resume Tuesday.

The Adventures of Mighty Bug. The Center for Puppetry Arts tells the story of Bugville's super hero. Shows Tuesday-Friday at 10 and 11:30 a.m., Saturday at noon and 2 p.m. and Sunday at  1 and 3 p.m. $16.50.

Financial literacy workshop. The Peachtree Branch Library offers the first class in a series on famly budgeting. Starts at noon Thursday. Free.

Oscar party. Ri Ra Irish Pub at 1080 Peachtree St. NE is throwing an Oscar party with popcorn, champagne, a red carpet and music. Starts at 5 p.m. Sunday. Free admission but you should RSVP if you're going.
