Artists' Reception for Animal Dreams

Hagedorn Foundation Gallery is pleased to present two
one-person exhibitions, by Atlanta sculptor David Landis and Savannah painter
June Stratton, that consider how people and nature reflect each other in their
behavior, their strength and fragility. The dual exhibition, titled “Animal
Dreams,” opens July 17 with an Artists’ Reception from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

In Animal Dreams, each artist’s dreamscapes
depict animals and birds in a reflective silver tone – whether cubist aluminum
sculptures of floating and falling creatures or silver leaf paintings of birds
and animals in midair. Landis and Stratton’s poetic works incorporate the
mirror-like material of silver as an intentional nod to the aesthetic use of
this treasured tone in classical art of centuries past.
