Atlanta REI — Dragonflies & Damselflies of Georgia & the Southeast

On July 18th at REI Atlanta,
the Georgia Conservancy will host esteemed Georgia naturalist and author Giff Beaton as he leads a presentation based on his new book,  Dragonflies
and Damselflies of Georgia and the Southeast.


For the past 15 years, Beaton has led a
variety of bird, nature and history tours and given a diverse range of nature
presentations across the South. He is the author of Birding Georgia, Birds of
Kennesaw Mountain
, and the coauthor of The
Breeding Bird Atlas of Georgia
and Birds
of Georgia
.  He is also the senior
author and editor of the Annotated
Checklist of Georgia Birds
.


Beaton will be discussing the difference
between dragonflies and damselflies, how long these insects have inhabited our
skies and what makes each species unique. After the presentation, Beaton
will be selling and signing copies of his book, Dragonflies and
Damselflies of Georgia and the Southeast
, solo and packaged with Georgia
Conservancy memberships.
