Nathan's Famous Hot Dog-Eating Contest Qualifier

On Saturday, June 15th, 2013, Cypress Street Pint and Plate, Major League Eating and Nathan’s Famous are bringing a hot dog-eating eating contest of epic proportions to Midtown Atlanta. This official qualifier for the Nathan’s Famous July Fourth International Hot Dog-Eating Contest is a sanctioned stop on the 2013 Nathan’s Famous qualifying tour, a circuit of more than a dozen contests occurring in cities across the U.S. and beyond. Beginning at 11 a.m., and taking over Cypress’ expansive patio, the June 15th event will feature a 10 minute all-you-can-eat Nathan’s hot dog challenge and will pit local eaters against professionals, including Eric “Badlands” Booker, Adrian Morgan and Atlanta’s own Damien Boykin. While attendees witness top performers put down an incredible amount of hot dogs for a chance to compete on July 4, 2012 at the Nathan’s Famous flagship in Coney Island, NY, Executive Chef Richard Silvey will be serving up delicious specialty Nathan’s hot dogs including: the Bacon Wrapped Dog - served with teriyaki and pineapple salsa; the Sonoran Dog - served with black beans, fresh avocado, pico de gallo and lime crema; and the Muffuletta Dog - with provolone cheese, pepperoncini and olive tapenade. Guests are encouraged to show up early to grab a front row seat and a cold pint of Shmaltz Brewing Company’s Coney Island Albino Python or Mermaid Pilsner on draught before the competitive action begins at 1 p.m sharp. For more information about the event, please visit the Cypress Street Pint and Plate Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/CypressStreet.
