'Hunt for Food' Community Food Drive

Looking for a meaningful Lenten or  Service project for your group of Life-changers? Action Ministries Feed the Hungry is hosting a community food drive — Hunt for Food — on Saturday, April 12, from 12 – 4 p.m. at its new warehouse location. They are accepting donations of peanut butter and jelly, canned fruit and meat-based soups. Did you know that Georgia has the third highest poverty rate in the nation, and it ranks sixth for food insecurity? Feed the Hungry provides more than 1 million meals annually to families all over north Georgia. Nearly 60 percent of the food goes to children. Action Ministries needs your help to stock their food boxes so that local organizations and congregations can provide hunger relief in their own communities. Action Ministries is offering a prize for the person/group who donates the most items during the Hunt for Food drive. Prize includes a mouth-watering BBQ lunch prepared by Kansas City BBQ Society-sanctioned judge and executive director of hunger relief programs, Mark Hellman, for up to 20 people of the winner’s choice, to be served after an unforgettable hour of packing food into boxes for local families in need!
