State of the Challenge

“State of the Challenge” is a  networking event and panel discussion highlighting  the significant progress of the Atlanta Better Buildings Challenge with a specific focus on successful implementation strategies for energy and water saving measures in commercial buildings.

Mayor Kasim Reed will provide a progress report of the Atlanta Better Buildings, including details of the program’s expansion and successes. 

In addition to comments from the Mayor, there will be a panel discussion featuring representatives from some of the most influential stakeholders in the Atlanta Better Buildings Challenge.  In an effort to identify best practices for energy efficient programs in Atlanta, panelists include representatives from each step of the implementation process and are as follows:

Asset – Bill Hollett, Senior Vice President, Cousins Properties;
Leasing – Chris Ahrenkiel, Senior Director, Tishman Speyer;
Property Manager – Dyron Dinsmore, Senior Property Manager, Parkway Realty;
Tenant – Bill Morrison, LEED AP, Vice President Operations, Skanska; Engineer – Rodger Rose, Head Engineer, Hines.

Crystal Edmonson, Broadcast Editor for the Atlanta Business Chronicle and host of the weekly television program BIZ on 11 Alive, will moderate the event and panel discussion.  Closing remarks will be provided by Sarah Zaleski with the United States Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.
