The Atlanta chapter of the Art of Living Foundation (http://www.artofliving.org/us-en) joins more than 15 cities across America in honoring local citizens who exemplify a commitment to uplifting human values. The Human Values Awards (http://humanvaluesaward.org/) event is part of the Foundation’s celebration of 30 years of service to humanity and its continued commitment to serving society by strengthening the individual.
This event also marks the launch of “Meditation on my Mind,” a state-wide campaign that aims to bring meditation programs to corporate offices, non-profit organizations and service groups, educational institutions, sports clubs, professional organizations, etc.
The winners this year are Sharath Mekala, founder and president of Village Vitals (http://www.villagevitals.org/about/) and Kate Atwood, founder of Kate's Club (http://www.katesclub.org/).
The special honoree of the evening is Reverend C. T. Vivian, Freedom Rider, Minister and a close friend of the late Martin Luther King, Jr.
The event will also feature a musical performance by Atlanta Unity Choir.
