Happy Random Acts of Kindness Day

Don't just say 'thank you" today. Instead, pay it forward by doing something nice for someone else.

Yeah, it’s another ho-hum hump day during the dog days of summer.

But wait, it can be soooo much more than that because today, August 22, 2012, is “Random Acts of Kindness Day in Georgia.” Governor Nathan Deal even proclaimed it so.

So how will you celebrate? Maybe you’ll buy coffee for the person standing in line behind you at ? Maybe you’ll allow someone else to take that prime parking spot you had been waiting for at ? Or you'll purchase a cold bottled water for those busy working on the ?

It was the Dalai Lama who said, “Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible."  

At the , it’s “Pay As You Wish Day” in honor of the governor’s proclamation for random acts of kindness. Visit the High on Wednesday and pay whatever you’d like for admission. The same applies for the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center on the westside.

So today, will you look for opportunities to do something nice for someone you don’t know and from whom you expect nothing in return? If someone does something nice for you, will you not simply say, “thank you,” but instead pay it forward by doing something nice for someone else?
