Laura DeLong The Sandy Springs Festival is a wonderful community event put on by Heritage Sandy Springs as a fundraiser to support all the other programs and events that the organization provides at low or no cost to the residents of Sandy Springs including Concerts by the Springs, Wind Down Wednesdays, Moovin' and Groovin', Turtle Tours. and the Heritage Sandy Springs Museum at the Williams-Payne House. The Festival is organized BY the community FOR the community involving over 400 volunteers. There are activities for every age group to enjoy including an Artist's Market, a community based civic and business exhibit area, a historical educational component, musical performances, and activities for children and teens. Sandy Springs has been enjoying this festival for 27years!

As a long time resident of Sandy Springs - I was tickled when the new event SANDY SPRINGS ARTSAPALOOZA arrived this weekend. I've always been an art lover and I just enjoy getting out and meeting with the different artist and array of work that can been seen at events such as this. Artsapalooza really hit the mark on the caliber of artist(s) and the way that it was laid out. I simply loved it, its a welcome event in Sandy Springs. I was reviewing the web site for the event and Artapalooza organizer are artist themselves and much like the Sandy Springs Heritage festival it is built by the community for the community - I can really see why the city supported bringing this event to the community. With over 100 artist we had a wonderful time at the event both Saturday and Sunday - returning to buy a couple of pieces for our home, the artist that were selected were really amazing. Despite the heat both days. the crowd was thick, but, easy to navigate, the parking was super easy and there was an Ole time trolley service that you could ride back and forth to get to your car. The staff and volunteers were amazing also, offering free water and fans to keep cool with. I spoke with many of the artist that said, they couldn't be happier with their sales, they absolutely loved the ease of the venue, had only kind words for the organizers and the way the event was structured, they couldn't wait to return. I say... Best New event... Sandy Springs Artsapalooza.

As an Artist I can tell you the best events in Atlanta: 1. Buckhead Spring Arts and Craft Festival : (Best Spring time event) everyone knows the name Buckhead, regardless of where you're from be it Topeka, Kansas or Atlanta, Georgia - everyone knows where Buckhead is. The show is one of the best arts and craft festival in the south and is put together by the best organizers there is in the industry. 2. Chastain Park Fall Arts Festival : (Best Fall Fine Arts Festival) - The artist that show their work here is some of the best that I;ve ever seen. And, as a professional artist, I travel three weekends out of each month attending shows to make my living and this is one of the best - if not the best Fall Fine arts festival in the country, the setting is amazing with the leaves changing color and the setting inside the park. 3. Festival on Ponce : When I met President Carter and his wife Roslyn, then encountered Jasmine Guy, Ryan Reynolds and Queen Latifia - I couldn't believe what a weekend it was, the Crowds were amazing and they were buying - which as an artist is a very important detail. 4. Piedmont Park Summer Arts Festival : a return of an old classic. For years, I always wanted to show my work at Piedmont park, but, never had the opportunity. When I got the chance to show at Piedmont, I jumped at it - and I can't wait to go back! 5. Sandy Springs Artapalooza - Loved it - loved it - loved it.
