First Responders Free Thanksgiving at Woody's Second Annual "24 Hours of Giving"

Atlanta's iconic cheesesteak sandwich shop holds a thanks-for-giving to Atlanta's First Responders

"These men and women on the front lines take care of our community around the clock where life tends to show its less-glamorous side, and more times than not they do so not for financial reward but for knowing their efforts will make the lives of those they serve, our neighborhoods and our city as a whole, safer and greater today than yesterday.  They do this through their training, their expertise and their sacrifice." - Steven Renner, owner of Woody's CheeseSteaks

Woody's CheeseSteaks, an Atlanta institution serving continuously from the same location since 1975, holds its second annual "24 Hours of Giving" on Thanksgiving Day.

All food on the 24 hours of Thanksgiving will be provided FREE to First Responders (Police, Fire, EMT/EMS/paramedic, HERO) and the same limited menu will be available to the general public.

In the spirit of the holiday and with the generous donations of local vendors, 100% of all cash sales will be split evenly and donated to the Atlanta Police and Atlanta Fire departments and their Foundations.

The event begins at midnight Wednesday, November 27, and for the subsequent 24 hours, Woody's will be open and serving to thank First Responders and give them a Thanksgiving Day break.

A large smoker will be on site roasting pork butts, turkey breasts and legs flavored with Woody's own Butt Rub; wieners and sausages, and kosher hot dogs to serve on the holiday plates with traditional sides such as green bean casserole.

"While we at Woody's give thanks every day for our First Responders, Thanksgiving is a day that allows us the opportunity to show our gratitude with what we do best - serving great food for 24 hours," said Steven Renner, owner of Woody's.

Woody's is open daily (11-12 a.m.) and until 4 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. Located at 981 Monroe Drive NE, Atlanta, GA 30308.
