Midtown Councilman's Video Urges Local Buying

Atlanta District 2 City Councilman Kwanza Hall is reminding Atlantans to "choose local, shop local" as they finish their holiday shopping and get ready to celebrate the arrival of the new year.

Atlanta District 2 City Councilman Kwanza Hall is reminding Atlantans to “choose local, shop local” as they finish their holiday shopping and get ready to celebrate the arrival of the new year.

“The best gift that we can give quality small businesses during these tough economic times is to spend our hard-earned dollars with them,” said Hall.

The first promotional video highlighting Hall’s “Keep It INtown” campaign currently airs in rotation on City Channel 26 and is available for viewing on the internet.

This holiday season and throughout 2012, Hall is partnering with Atlanta INtown newspaper on the “Keep It INtown” campaign, a series of public service announcements, shopping events, and networking activities to put a spotlight on Atlanta’s thousands of small businesses. The launch of the year-long campaign has coincided with the busiest retail season of the year.

For Twitter users, Hall is encouraging Atlantans to spread the word about their favorite small, independent businesses in the city and include the hashtag #KeepItINtown in their tweets.
