Grady High senior lands State Department internship during Gap Year
Nuggets of good things happening at Grady High School.
Grady High School senior Rachel Citrin has been selected to participate in the language and cultural immersion program sponsored by the US State Department. Rachel is one of only eight students chosen nationally to study Arabic in Oman.
Her program will include studying Arabic for three hours each day, taking part in community service activities, sharing in cultural immersion including living with a host family, working on a research project throughout, and interacting with the local youth on a regular basis. The US State Department program information can be found at their website: http://www.nsliforyouth.org/about/
Rachel is deferring her freshman year at Emory University, where she has been named a Martin Luther King, Jr. scholar and received a full four-year scholarship. Rachel is the daughter of Alka and David Citrin of Atlanta.
