Fulton County Animal Services Offering $20 Special on Dogs and their Pet of the Week: Whispy

Last week, Fulton County Animal Services (FCAS) announced that it was waiving the adoption fee for all cats and kittens until August 10.  Since then, over 80 cats have been adopted to good homes! On the heels of that success, FCAS is offering a dog adoption fee of only $20 until August 13, on all dogs that have been at the shelter for three or more weeks.  Potential adopters will still be screened to ensure the animals are being placed in good homes.

According to FCAS Director Lara Hudson, the shelter wants to get as many dogs adopted out as possible.  “We have twice as many dogs as we can comfortably care for right now, and we don’t want to euthanize these sweet animals,” says Hudson.  “We are asking the community to help us save lives by coming in and adopting dogs that have been with us for three weeks or more for only $20.”

For $20, adopters will receive a dog that has been spayed or neutered, has had all vaccines and is microchipped.

FCAS Pet of the Week:  Whispy the Quiet Dog

One of the dogs available for only $20 is Whispy, a two year old bull terrier mix.  Although she looks something like the dog from The Little Rascals, Whispy is no rascal.  In fact, she is a staff favorite, because she is so laid-back and quiet. and the staff say she’d make a great office assistant!  Whispy weighs just 40 lbs, gets along with other dogs and is fine with cats.  If you’re interested in adopting Whispy, please contact Kerry at 404-613-9157 or email her at: kmoyershorton@fultonanimalservices.com.

Managed by LifeLine Animal Project, Fulton County Animal Service’s mission is to provide a humane environment for Fulton County’s homeless pets while placing them into loving, permanent homes, and to end pet overpopulation by promoting spay/neuter, advocating for life-saving public policy, increasing public awareness of homeless pets and educating the community about responsible pet ownership.  To learn more, visit www.fultonanimalservices.com.
