Fulton County Animal Services Staff Helps Man Get Home and their Pet of the Week

On average just two percent of all cats in shelters are reclaimed by their owners. But last week, the Fulton County Animal Services (FCAS) staff was touched when a man, wearing a backpack that contained all his possessions, came in to reclaim his cat.  As soon as the cat saw his dad, he jumped on top of the backpack and took his spot near dad's head.  When the FCAS staff found out that the man a ride to Birmingham, AL, where he had a place to stay, they spread the word and found him a ride. Staff also took up a collection amongst themselves for his gas money, and the man and cat made it to their new home safely.  A happy ending for a who cat defied the statistics and a man who loves his cat, thanks to the great FCAS staff!

Chico

Can you say handsome?  Chico is a sweet four-year-old tricolor dog who is one of the staff’s favorites!  He is a calm fellow who wants nothing more than to make people happy and receive lots of love.  Chico is great with other dogs, and the staff thinks he will make a perfect pet.  Chico has already been neutered and is ready to go home today!
