Posthumous Endorsements: The political Secret Weapon of 2012

Struggling to garner support for your cause or candidate? Struggling to clench key endorsements? Have no fear, a posthumous endorsement may be the perfect solution.

From Tupac's appearance at Coachella, to Colonel Sander's funny or die video, to Ronald's Reagan's support of Atlanta's Regional Transport referendum, posthumous support of a variety of causes has been a popular trend this year. In light of the upcoming election, (for which political endorsements seem to be pouring in by the hour) it seemed fitting that I dedicate this blog to selecting some deceased individuals and declaring a few posthumous endorsement myself.

To begin, I'd be remiss if I didn't state that in the beginning Adam and Even were staunch supporters of PETA. They preferred to go naked than to wear fur, and all hell broke loose (literally), when they donned their inaugural furs. In fact, they weren't the only Biblical figures to take a stand on the issues of today. In fact, the second incident occurred several years ago during the infamous Tyson vs Holyfield fight, in which Mike Tyson bit a chunk out of Evander Holyfield's ear. I must caution you against letting the 'Holy' in Holyfield fool you. Peter, a disciple of Jesus was definitely team Tyson, as Peter's own ear slaying incident in the Bible makes a clear statement that he is in fact pro ear detachment.

While political action committees allege that Ronald Regan was a staunch support of the ATL transportation amendment that included light rail, Rosa Parks is certainly in opposition. Her hard work and bravery ensured that every citizen has the right to sit at the front of the bus. However, The multiple car setup of light rail makes it it very difficult to find the front of the rail car. After a long day of work, Rosa Parks would be too tired to be worried about locating the front of the rail car.

Least but not last, I can't ignore the importance of pop culture's influence. Helen Wagner, who played Nancy on As the World Turns for 54 years pledges her posthumous support to rapper Drake as he continues his frivolous and idiotic beef with r&b singer Chris Brown. As many of you know Drake played Jimmy Brooks in the show Degrassi. Since Degrassi is essentially a teen soap opera, Helen Wagner feels that the soap opera connection she shares with DRake is a bond that can't be severed. However, the Chris Brown fans among us need not remain in fear that Chris Brown stands alone, for you see, there is no doubt that Ike Turner is definitely team breezy.

Finally, Paul Revere has has stated that he is anti-NBC. Paul blames NBC's tape delay, not social media for the anticlimactic Olympics we experienced this summer. He argues that Olympic results would have surfaced even if the internet didn't exist at all. To illustrate his point, he pulls a page from Kanye West's book and states...."Hi social media, I'm going to let you finish, but my midnight ride was the best spoiler of all time."
